bookmark_borderSome Finished Skeb Requests

Imma put up some of the recently finished Skeb requests though, since I have received some adorable stuff for certain, which may or may not have been posted around before. I usually try to retweet tweets made by the artist making it, and if they do not post it themselves I will usually post it instead.

A lot of the fox hugging the planet, because I find those to be adorable, and the artists on Skeb whom does not draw size stuff as a normal thing seems to accept them more often!

bookmark_borderJuly Polls Results

The two polls I ran through the month of July are now over and the results are in for them.

For the CYSH’S OUTFIT poll the choice ended up with:
School Uniform

For the CHARACTER POLL poll the choice ended up with:
Saya

It was close between some of those results, but there were at least winners specific winners by the end of it, so as promised they shall be made in a future commission coming soon-ish. :>

bookmark_borderStorage Server Project

So I am currently working on turning my second PC into more of a proper storage server/Plex server for things. At the moment I have been using it for Plex with a single 16TB HDD, this one is starting to fill up and I have been wanting to make it more proper for storage.

Which means I had to get some various parts, and I am still in the process of acquiring some of these, with the main thing being the HDDs I wanna shove into it, since I want to not have to redo the RAID at a later time I want to fill it up with HDDs from the getgo.

Purchased Items
– LSI RAID Controller – About $150 refurb, got 2x SFF-8087 SAS to 4 SATA cables with the purchased
– SAS Expander – About $50 refurb, expands the 2 SAS to 8 SATA to 24 SATA instead, means I can put 24 HDDs extra in the PC
Chieftec Drive Bays, about $200 for two. I have 4 5.25″ bay slots that are empty in the front of my case, which means I can turn them into HDD slots, these drive bays gives me 3 extra HDD slots per, so I can fit 6 HDDs in the front of the case after adding these two

Yet To Purchase
– 4 SFF-8087 SAS to 4 SAT cables, about $150, might not need 4 more though
– 2 SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 SAS cables for the RAID Controller to SAS Expander, about $80
– HDDs.

I am still contemplating between buying 16TB Toshiba HDDs or 18TB Toshiba HDDs, on top of that due to expense I might have to make it more long-term and buy a few HDDs every so often before I am finally able to properly set it up, since each of these HDDs are between $300 and $350. To fill up the new front of the case bays I need 6 of them, that alone means $2100 in HDDs. I also have about 8 internal HDD slots, that is another $2800, which means the total price for HDDs will be in the $5000 range.

It is an expensive project, however once things are set up and such, it does not really need to be touched for years and years to come, unless something breaks. If a HDD dies I can get it replaced since I am buying NAS/Storage grade HDDs meant to be powered on 24/7 with a high load, so with the warranty I should not really be too worried. I am planning to set it up in RAID6.

Total price for the storage server project in itself will probably reach around $6000 by the end of it all, good lord…..

bookmark_borderCurrent Projects

So for the moment I have chilled down a bit when it comes to commissions, however there are still projects which are pending, they were of course planned for and paid for a long time ago.

2 projects from Spokle, one huge collab with 8 other people. One smaller collab with 2 other people. There may be a possibility for more collabs of this sorts in the future.
A couple of Skeb requests, although these are more recent requests.
X amount of works from Vkelis.
1 collab commission from Kkasi, I do have some more plans in mind for future Kkasi commissions. Collabs in the future might also be possible.
1 piece from gv-art in the works, and I definitely have more planned from him.

Who wouldn’t want more sexy fox, after all.

bookmark_borderPC Upgrade 2023

So it’s been a couple of years and I figured it was time for an upgrade. I went from the following specifications:

Case: Fractal Design R6 USB-C
GPU: ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Ti ROG Strix
CPU: Intel Core i9-9900KS
RAM: HyperX Fury DDR 2666MHz 64GB
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z390-Gaming S-1151
PSU: Corsair Vengeance 750M
Storage: Kingston A2000 1TB NVMe M.2 x2 | Samsung 860 QVO 2TB SSD |

To the following:

Case: Phanteks Eclipse G500A
GPU: MSI Radeon RX 7900XTX
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200MHz 64GB
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F
PSU: Fractal Design ION Gold 850W
Storage: Kingston FURY 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD | Kingston NV2 2TB M.w NVMe SSD
(I also took 1x Kingston A2000 1TB NVMe M.2 and the Samsung 860 QVO 2TB SSD from the old PC and put it in this one)

Was the upgrade 100% necessary? Most likely not, however to be honest I like to upgrade my stuff every few years, between 3-4 years from the last purchase. The old PC was bought in late 2019.

I sold my old PC to my brother, which means I got some of what I spent on the new one back as well, so all in all it wasn’t so bad in the end.

Oh, also got a new laptop, the old one was a bit of a mess so it was time for a new one, and an upgrade at that.

Old laptop: MSI GF75 17.3″
New laptop: ASUS ROG Strix G16 16″
